An excellent weekend was enjoyed by 36 teams who entered the Geraldton Bowling Centenary Carnival for 2010.
Of the total, Dalkeith Nedlands fielded four (4) teams and each had their measure of success on excellent greens dampened slightly by the Friday drizzle. However by Monday all greens had pace and `A` green ran a steady 17 seconds with a gusty Southwesterly blowing to about 20 knots.
The team of John McIntosh, Peter Collins, Brian Burton and Gordon Wilson won 7 of their 9 games to finish in the prizemoney in 5th position while Alex Mirmikidis, Alan Davison, Don Hicks and Noel Reynolds finished 10th in a very creditable performance.
Last year`s NABA award winners excelled with Kingsley Newman, Alton Jackson, John Bridge and Ron Day taking home a couple of dollars for winning the Day One Prize (3 wins out of 3).
David Hyde with David Broadfoot, Geoff White and Graeme Murdock came home with a rush and defeated several class sides including Daniel Paterson`s team (One White Bassendean) on the final day.
The Ocean West accommodation was excellent and most players enjoyed the outdoor barbecue area evening `soul searching sessions` over several drinks.
All of our players enjoyed the weekend and it is rumoured that other players at DNBC have registered an interest in the 2011 visit which will take in June 3rd to the 7th 2011.
